…And the love is mutual!
At the invitation of the Cleveland Public Theater, Guerilla Haiku made its way to Cleveland for the Party @ Gordon Square on June 8th, 2013, a neighborhood celebration of art and community in the Gordon Square Arts District of Cleveland.
What a city! What a weekend of adventures!!! With a host of INCREDIBLE volunteers and the tremendous efforts of the team at the Cleveland Public Theater, Guerilla Haiku transformed the neighborhood into a colorful, contagious, and inspiring canvas of words.
Our first attempt at creating an indoor installation was a rousing success, as a church became our haiku playground. And unbelievable fun as well as a ton of exceptional moments of connection and celebration were had by all!

The Haiku Mistress
Actor and educator, Caley Vickerman, discovered haiku in 6th grade and they remain to this day a favorite method of expression; simple, precise and immeasurably powerful. It became her fervent wish to create events that celebrated haiku (and humanity). Thus the Guerilla Haiku Movement was born! …And the Haiku Mistress gratefully continues to celebrate! 
We are the Guerilla Haiku Movement; a cadre of artists, fun-lovers, and fools that use sidewalk chalk and the ancient Japanese poetic tradition of Haiku to tell our stories and the stories of our communities inside of one moment. Check out our events page to join us in a city near you!
