After Guerilla Haiku’s experience last year in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, we were approached by a student from the area who wanted to conduct a Guerilla Haiku event to unite area youth. She has been working with the Haiku Mistress to organize her own Guerilla Haiku style event, scheduled for mid-February. We are so excited for her to implement this event! Here is our newest Agent of Haiku introducing herself in her own words:
Hi there! My name is Celeste and I am 15 years old. I love to listen to music and read in my free time. I live in the Rio Grande Valley, which is in Deep South Texas and is almost always above 85 degrees. Here we have a Mexican/ Hispanic culture and most people are friendly and accepting. Our culture highly values family time, so we, including myself, are always spending time with relatives. I want to bring Guerilla Haiku to my community because I think it will be a cool way to bring different people together. Plus it will be fun to see chalky poems all over town! I hope to have a great, memorable experience that I will never forget. I can’t wait to get going!
