Do not keep me out – We stay to break down this wall – Our souls free to play

Some groups were made for Guerilla Haiku, and this crew in Orange, NJ was one such group. From the moment the chalk came out, until the Cake (with a haiku frosted upon it) was cut and consumed- they elevated the haiku experience.

First off, Hands Inc does community revitalization in Orange, NJ. One of their projects is ORNG Ink, a youth program providing arts education and mentorship for talented and artistic youth from the area. These youth ROCK. And they headed up 4 groups to cover 4 neighborhoods in Orange in haiku.

Thirty Agents set out and engaged over 100 people, ages 3-72 in haikuing the surfaces of their city. They told of kids leaving their bikes and basketballs in playgrounds to follow them down the streets, writing. Magical.

I hope it doesn’t rain for a long time. We want the poetry to last.

What am I talking about- ORNG Ink IS the poetry!  Just look at their collective work below or click HERE to peruse the Flickr Gallery of joy!
