Calling ALL Agents of Haiku!

The Guerilla Haiku Movement is on a mission to cover Central Park in poetry, and you’re invited. If you’ve got the verse, we’ll have the chalk. Once equipped, you can scribble sidewalk rhymes at your leisure or set off on an optional scavenger hunt to help find new canvases and bring passers-by in on the fun. Organizer Caley Vickerman started by asking people to write haikus to one another, first in theater exercises, then on the streets of New York City. The movement has since blossomed into a 40-city national tour, with hundreds of on-the-street poets ready to pounce — and this is the 2nd Annual Manhattan event. Haikus of all themes and lettering of all forms are welcome, so seek out your spot and let those syllables fly.

June 16th, 2013
1pm – 5pm: We meet @ 1pm at the Columbus Circle Fountain for Registration and pre-Kuing.  (Columbus Circle Station, A, C, B, D, 1 trains)
The Park has been divided into sections, and teams of Haiku Scavengers will be covering the park (and the neighborhoods directly surrounding the park) densely with their words.

After a bit more than two hours, all teams will convene for a Closing Ceremony at a convenient watering hole!
